“Sendmail, Inc., the provider of the ubiquitous Sendmail
Internet Mail platform for e-communications, applications and
services, today announced a new joint technology agreement with
SEEK Systems, Inc. of Bothell, Washington. SEEK Systems markets
innovative technology that leverages memory-based storage systems
to create massive performance boosts for high volume systems. The
combination of Sendmail’s Internet Mail platform with SEEK Systems
technology enables service providers and corporations to process
escalating volumes of email dramatically faster without changes to
the email application code. The partnership calls for Sendmail and
SEEK Systems to optimize the joint use of their technologies, as
well as participate in co-marketing activities with current and
future customers.”

“Sendmail and SEEK Systems are both delivering real cutting-edge
solutions that businesses need to thrive in the Internet age,” said
Greg Olson, CEO of Sendmail. “Our high volume customers need
new tools to reliably and efficiently handle the explosive growth
of Internet Mail. The Sendmail – SEEK Systems partnership provides
a powerful solution.”

“The SEEK Systems controller technology utilizes several
proprietary techniques for retaining frequently used data —
without any user intervention — as well as several techniques for
concatenating writes and pre-fetching reads. The net effect in most
installations is that CPU utilization increases and disk drive
activity decreases. SEEK’s unique memory platform has generated
significant I/O (input/output) performance gains, in some cases up
to 800% for many installed customers, including Internet Service
Providers (ISP), using the Sendmail mail server software.”
