“SigmaTel, Inc., a leading provider of high performance
integrated circuits (ICs) for high-speed broadband communications,
wireless and PC audio solutions, announced today the release of its
Red Hat certifiable Linux host audio driver.”

The new Linux host audio driver, which supports VIA and
Intel chipsets, further establishes SigmaTel as a world leader in
audio solutions.

“SigmaTel’s Linux-based host audio driver is a direct benefit
for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end users. The
company’s solution enables PC manufacturers to ship products with
an installed Linux host audio driver to the Asia Pacific region,
where Linux continues to gain popularity. Linux users can now
purchase a Linux-based system, which includes the appropriate audio
driver without incurring any additional cost after the system is
purchased.”
