BW: Technauts Announces First Commercially Available Failover/redundancy Technology for Linux

“Technauts, makers of the eServer line of smart appliances,
today announced the availability of a new technology that provides
Linux-based failover and redundancy capabilities at the application
and operating system level.”

“With an open architecture that is easily ported to other
operating systems, the software is geared at service providers,
operating system vendors, and enterprise applications developers on
a license or OEM arrangement.”

“Via a sophisticated system of monitoring and communication,
Technauts’ failover and redundancy technology provides the
reassurance of 99.99 percent uptime for mission critical
applications or network services. With this technology, if an
operating system or an application should experience a failure, the
problem is immediately detected and a second technology-enabled
system automatically takes over, assuring businesses that their
mission critical applications will remain up and running. The
latency period for failure detection and switchover is configurable
by application, but defaults to sixty seconds.”
