“VERITAS(R) Software Corporation …, the industry’s leading
enterprise-class application storage management software provider,
today announced that the VERITAS NetBackup(TM) Linux client is
shipping with Red Hat Linux 6.1 Deluxe.”

“The VERITAS NetBackup Linux client is yet one more example of
VERITAS Software’s commitment to meet the needs of enterprise
customers who demand the continuous availability of
business-critical information in heterogeneous environments. As a
component within VERITAS NetBackup’s core 3-tier architecture,
VERITAS NetBackup client software enables high-speed backup “over
the wire” to VERITAS NetBackup media servers. The VERITAS
NetBackup Linux client facilitates high performance data protection
for Red Hat Linux servers or workstations.

“This is the first step as a result of the agreement we
announced in early November to jointly develop enterprise storage
management solutions for the Red Hat Linux marketplace,” said Paul
McNamara, general manager, Enterprise Business Unit, Red Hat. “The
VERITAS NetBackup Linux client equips our customers with an
enterprise solution for their storage management needs.”
