“WireSpeed Communications Corporation, a leader in customized
embedded network-software solutions, today announced its Embedded
Linux Service. The new service makes it easy for manufacturers to
keep pace with market demand for products that offer more features,
run on Linux and support open-source software. WireSpeed’s Embedded
Linux Service will enable manufacturers to reduce the time, risk
and cost of building new Linux-based products.”

“Embedded Linux has quickly emerged as one of the world’s
fastest growing operating systems by offering high reliability,
free distribution and open-source application support. This growth
is putting extreme pressure on companies to quickly introduce
products that support Linux. Unfortunately, the pool of engineers
with sufficient embedded Linux experience is extremely
limited.”

WireSpeed is already helping several companies embed Linux
and other open-source applications into their platforms. Our
capability gives the customer a method to significantly reduce
time-to-market without relinquishing control or ownership of their
product.
Source code is included in the final package, which
allows a company to internally modify or incorporate future
capabilities when engineering resources are in place,” said James
True, VP Marketing and Sales at WireSpeed.”
