Carleton University will unveil a new computer lab tomorrow that houses 30 Netwinder Computers.

Corel and Carleton University will unveil a new computer lab
tomorrow that houses 30 Netwinder Computers. The Netwinders have
been donated by Corel. The donation includes software and technical
support for the Centre for Creative Learning. The donation is
valued at $50,000 to $60,000. A new Netwinder sells for $1,500. The
Engineering Student Equipment Fund also donated $10,000 to purchase
other computer hardware. The Netwinder runs on the Linux operating
system, and Corel CEO Michael Cowpland said that Linux users have
been “rabidly enthusiastic” about the their new computer (OSun
50).
