“All Perle Specialix ‘direct connect’ serial products already
offer support for LINUX environments. Recognizing that an
increasing number of its remote access customers need access to
LINUX-based central servers, Perle Systems is now announcing the
addition of dial-out for LINUX to its complete range of Remote
Access Servers (Perle 833, Perle 833IS and Perle 833AS). LINUX
dial-out support will provide LAN-based LINUX users with easy to
use access to the Internet, corporate Intranets, on-line services
and fax dial-out. The Perle 833 Series will be the only such range
of Remote Access Servers to provide this comprehensive dial-out
functionality, designed to enhance the productivity of LAN-based
LINUX users. AllPerle Remote Access Servers will be delivered with
LINUX dial-out client software from Q2, 2000. In addition, all
registered users of Perle 833, 833IS and 833AS Access Servers will
be able to obtain upgrade software free of charge from the release
date.”
