The problem with getting Debian is getting Debian. It is a huge
distribution with multiple archives and many details to know before
getting the right files. If you try to get a CD image for yourself,
you can not go and overload any ftp sites because in the main you
must use rsync to get a CD image.
I have written some examples for you at this link. If you keep
your CD image on your disk then you can update it via rsync and get
only the changes made for the update. It is very important to use
less bandwidth. The internet is very slow nowadays and every little
bit helps. Besides, you actually want to use that blazing fast
processor don’t you?
There is a very good program for making a Debian CD from a local
mirror of Debian. It is the Pseudo-Image Kit and I have included an
example of how to get the list for making the CD. Have fun!
