From October 11-13, the Wizards of OS #2 conference will
be held under the topic of “Open Cultures and Free Knowledge”.

In 1999, the conference was one of the first to address Free
Software and Open Source in broad context of politics, culture and
science.

This
year, the program expands the perspective even more
by
including Free Software and the troubles of the “new economy”,
public knowledge, open standards, online collaboration and
peer-to-peer, e-government, ip laws and many more. Confirmed
speakers include Bruce Perens, Lawrence Lessig, Tim Hubbard from
the Human Genome Project, Brian McConnell from SETI@Home.
