is destined for America’s homes. Lineo and MeterNet say they will
be the first to introduce a Linux-based set-top box.”

“The companies say that the deal calls for the MeterNet-
manufactured MeterNet wb8680LT set-top box to run Lineo’s
EmbrowserT embedded micro Web browser.”

The Linux-based version will become available during the
first quarter of 2000
, although the standard model with Lineo
Embrowser for DR DOS is available immediately, with a Smart Card
version set for availability next month.”
