According to Leonard
Gallion
:

Corporate Desktop Linux is a new open initiative to make Linux
the premier choice for the enterprise desktop. By leveraging
Linux’s flexibility and open standards support, a highly managable,
powerful, and cost effective desktop can be created.

Corporate Desktop Linux (CDL) targets such features as remote
desktop configuration, automatic software distribution, and support
for remote/roaming users. CDL plans to make Linux the most
flexible, open, and cost effective solution available.

Approximately 70% of CDL’s resources go to organizing and
documenting existing open source resources which can be used to
support the business desktop. The other 30% of their efforts are
spent coding or scripting new utilities.

This means that non-programmers can play a vital role in its
development. CDL is just getting started and they welcome any all
support, submissions, ideas or experiences you can share.
