On February 1st, Richard Stallman published the article Why you shouldn’t use the
Library GPL for your next library.

to the world of computing, including GNU Emacs and the GPL.”

awareness from the wide media exposure that Linux has received
allowed Linux into a number of commercial settings where otherwise
it may not have been considered.
“We must value the LGPL for allowing commercial usage of library
code.”
