“Gateway Inc. last week became an authorized reseller of Linux
6.0 from Red Hat Inc., and now offers the operating system as an
option on its custom-built ALR series of servers.”

“Red Hat Linux will be available to resellers via Gateway’s
Custom Integration Services group, said Dave Berger, director of
business development at Gateway, based here. The company will
acquire the licensing of Red Hat Linux and then install it on the
ALR servers for $225 each, he said.”

Support for Red Hat Linux will be handled by Red Hat,
Research Triangle Park, N.C., said Berger. Clients either can
purchase the support from Gateway at the time the server is bought,
purchase it through third-party service providers, or purchase it
from Red Hat directly
, he said.”
