“Resellers should soon see three new thin clients from
Hewlett-Packard Co. HP… recently released details about its new
Entria thin clients. The Entria family is part of HP’s E-services
initiative. E-services is HP’s modular approach to linking
Internet-based appliances to dynamically communicate and fulfill
service requests.”

“The HP Entria L… is based on the Linux operating system
and includes a local browser, making it accessible to both Windows
NT and Web-based applications. It is powered by a 266MHz X86
processor.”

“Part of the appeal of HP’s thin clients is the vendor’s servers
on the back end, said Johnson. ‘In thin clients, you need the right
server on the back end, otherwise the terminal
stinks…’ “
