“As the Linux operating system market becomes more crowded,
vendor Red Hat Inc. is trying to stay ahead of the game.”
“To do so, the Durham-based software company this month released
Red Hat Linux 6.1. The upgrade, which incorporates the Linux
22.12 [sic] kernel, features an easier installation, a choice of
two GUIs, online updates, an update agent, and failover and
load-balancing services for servers, according to Red Hat
executives.”
“The upgrade also will include Sun Microsystems Inc.’s recently
acquired office suite, StarOffice 5.1, which includes word
processing, spreadsheet, E-mail, database and Web publishing
applications.”
