“The Kanotix project team released its Easter Special Edition
live CD RC2 on April 16, and announced that it is ready for
download and testing. The distro boasts a 2.6.16.5 Linux kernel,
the KDE 3.5.2 desktop, and the new KOffice 1.5.0.

“Distro founder and lead developer Jörg Schirottke said in
the release announcement that ‘all packages are current Debian
‘sid’ (unstable) as of 2006-04-16 … All problems with the current
Debian ‘sid’ packages for X.Org 7.0.12 [were] fixed for this
preview release. The new artwork is not ready and will be in a
following release…'”
