“Phoenix-based Hamrick Software has released the Standard
Edition of its Linux version of VueScan software free for personal
and educational use.

“VueScan supports infrared scanners from manufacturers like
Epson, Minolta, Nikon and Canon. VueScan software allows you to
automatically find and remove dust spots and scratches when
scanning film, reducing the need to manually touch up scans with
Photoshop, and significantly improving scanning productivity says
