Duke of URL: Review of SuSE Linux 6.4

“I have often heard SuSE touted at the European distribution,
and as everyone knows, that means one thing. It will catch on in
America-well, eventually. Even though it took a while, it was worth
the wait. SuSE is now booming just about everywhere.”

“As other Linux stocks dropped like Red Hat and VA Linux
Systems, SuSE saw no problems. Why? That is because SuSE is still a
private organization. The fact that SuSE is so popular is amazing
based on the fact that Red Hat had to obtain an IPO before it
really boomed in the Linux world.”

“With all this, SuSE has obtained quite a reputation not only in
the business world, but also in the home environment. That is
because SuSE is changing with the time, and even charming us with
those nice little stickers of the User Friendly characters (I was
hooked when I saw them)….”

“Package Installation- This takes a little while, but you have
literally thousands of packages to choose from. One of the main
things that hindered distributions such as Red Hat is that they
included very little in the way of packages I could make good use
of. SuSE provides nearly everything one would ever need along with
some other stuff I am sure even advanced users will not need-but
better safe than sorry.
This cuts down on the figurative
installation time-in that sense I mean, I don’t need to download
packages for the rest of the night just to get my system fully
configured the way I want it.”
