Editor’s Note: Dust is Settling…

By Brian Proffitt
Managing Editor

For those of you who watched the site last night around 2100 EST
and saw strange and unusual error messages, that was us moving LT
to a new server.

The move was done to compensate for the increased traffic load
we have been experiencing lately. To date, the move was 95%
successful, with all files and database functions now synced to the
new machine. Our new home is a dual-core 3.4 Ghz -Xeon running
Apache on Red Hat, in case you were wondering.

Note that I indicated “95%.” That’s because some of the time
functions are still not properly running. Apparently, getting every
piece of the process running on Greenwich time is not as easy as
one would think.

So, tonight, around 2030 EST (0130 GMT), there will be a little
more work on the site. You should not see any glitches, but if
there is odd behavior, blame it on us.

Thanks for your patience!
