for in-car multimedia systems and has appointed Sun Microsystems
and IBM as development partners…”

establishing the basic architecture for the in-car multimedia
system, standardizing an API and hardware peripheral interfaces,
and determining requirements for bus protocols and gateways…”

they thought it essential to provide a common API platform that
