There’s been a lot of talk about the negative effect of Bill
Gates’ Senate testimony on the engineering community. It isn’t hard
to see the sudden interest in Linux as the reaction. Although both
rate high on entertainment value, at least if you’re an engineer,
neither will have a long-term effect on Windows NT’s penetration of
the EDA market.
