embedded systems world have formed the Embedded Linux Consortium
for advancing the OS’s cause in embedded designs.”

“And at the System Builder Summit here this week, Red Hat chief
technical officer Michael Tiemann led the charge for having system
vendors and resellers incorporate Linux in future designs:
‘Platform-independent applications are being written by an
ever-increasing number of Linux-trained programmers.’ “

” ‘Linux is now the fastest growing operating system for server
applications. The embedded computer market is the next frontier,’
Lehrbaum said. ‘The goal of the ELC will be to amplify the depth,
breadth, and speed of Linux adoption in the enormous embedded
computer market.’ “
