Enterprise Linux Today: Bynari Announces Linux Mail And Collaboration Server for IBM zSeries

“Today Bynari Inc. announced that its award winning messaging
and collaboration product, TradeServer 2.0, runs on the IBM zSeries
and S/390 under the Turbolinux operating system port for those
platforms. TradeServer for the zSeries and S/390 is currently in
pilot test as an application hosting platform for a company that
manages the world’s largest IP data communication network, with
presence in 220 countries and territories.”

“Bynari also offers TradeServer as an entry level platform for
small to medium size businesses wanting functionality found in
Microsofttm Exchange. In addition to the version for
IBM’s mainframe Virtual Machine and the entry level version,
TradeServer is also available in a version for cluster rich
environments.”

“Originally designed as a platform for the huge population of
Microsoft Outlook users not connected to Exchange, TradeServer has
also proven its value as a cost effective replacement for Exchange.
TradeServer supports IMAP, POP3, SMTP, and LDAP protocols for
numerous e-mail clients including Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora
and Netscape Messenger. Additionally, TradeServer offers meeting
management, shared calendars and folders, and other workgroup
collaboration functions for workgroup oriented clients including
Microsoft Outlook and Bynari’s own TradeXCH.”
