Enterprise Linux Today: Caldera Announces Volution Messaging Server

Caldera International, Inc. today announced the release
of the Caldera Volution Messaging Server, an Internet
standards-based mail and calendaring server for Caldera OpenLinux
and Open UNIX platforms.

Emphasizing reliability, compatibility and performance as well
as ease of installation, use and management, Caldera Volution
Messaging Server provides small-to-medium businesses and replicated
sites with secure and robust e-mail and collaboration capabilities.
A significant feature of the Caldera Volution Messaging Server is
its compatibility with popular mail clients, including full support
for Microsoft Outlook products, other Internet mail clients, and
Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers. In
addition, it interoperates with popular anti-virus, backup and fax
server software.

Caldera Volution Messaging Server is Caldera’s third product in
the Caldera Volution product family. Caldera Volution Messaging
Server, along with Caldera Volution Manager and Caldera Volution
Online, represent Caldera’s next step in providing products and
services above the company’s operating systems.

“Mail and messaging have become critical components of everyday
business activities,” said Ransom Love, president and CEO, Caldera
International. “Caldera Volution Messaging Server offers our
channel a highly reliable, secure solution with features and
functionality similar to leading e-mail servers, but it is
significantly less complex to install and manage. Built on common
Volution elements, the Volution Messaging Server can be deployed on
Caldera’s Linux and UNIX environments for our customers and
resellers.”
