Enterprise Linux Today: Linda Supercomputing now available for the PowerPC using Black Lab Linux

The release of Linda for the PowerPC opens up new
opportunities for rapid and easy development of applications for
parallel processing.

“Scientific Computing Associates, Inc., a leader in
high-performance computing software, and Terra Soft Solutions, Inc.
are pleased to announce that Linda® Supercomputing is now
available for the PowerPC using Black Lab Linux.”

“Terra Soft introduced Linda as a powerful addition to their
already strong and growing suite of applications, demonstrating
their commitment to offering as complete and well supported a
distribution as possible. “Through four simple commands to annotate
codes and the precompiler, developers can use Linda to
‘parallelize’ existing serial applications, enabling efficient,
high-performance in a parallel computing environment. Less time
consuming than hand recoding, less expensive than traditional
supercomputing, Linda and Black Lab Linux PowerPC clusters offer an
ideal parallel development and computing system,” says Terra Soft
in their news release of October 9, 2000.”

“Linda offers our DOE Lab and other Black Lab Linux customers an
efficient means of transforming existing serial code into a
parallel environment. It’ s less time consuming and less expensive
than recoding by hand . an exciting compliment to our Black Lab
