Essential Phone owners have not yet received Google’s Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, until today, when Andy Rubin’s company surprised users on Twitter with the announcement of the full release of the Android 8.1 Oreo software update on the Essential Phone. Essential invited all Essential Phone owners to check their Android smartphones for the update now, as Android 8.1 Oreo not only brings all the cool new features of the Android Oreo series, but also new Settings menu layouts and redesigned navigation buttons.
