plug and play servers, the buzz was that OpenSource had
arrived.”

“Nowhere was this more apparent than with the announcement that
IT publisher Ziff Davis Germany had awarded the Innovation Award
for Software to the open source K Desktop Environment (KDE).”

“Linux and other open source operating systems lack some of the
services for new devices common to Windows and the Apple Mac. Major
Linux distributors such as Caldera, S.u.S.E and Red Hat are yet to
support wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, which enable network
links over short distances between devices.”
