“Of course I had heard of SuSE before, but it being one of the
Linux distributions you had to actually pay for, it didn’t seem too
interesting to dive into back then. After the recent buzz on
Slashdot and OSNews about OpenSuSE, I decided to check out the free
version of SuSE, which was available via an FTP installation. This
method sounded complicated but it turned out well. Really well,
read on for my thoughts and impressions.
