“My roommates and myself are considering taking the plunge and
renting an entire house. The house that we are currently looking
into is devoid of any standard networking system. Most likely, it
will be my responsibility to provide the optimal setting for our
new house. When considering this notion, I started to think that
this could be done very well using OSS software. What follows is
the concept of the idea, followed by links to the technical aspects
of the idea.

“Q: Why consider OSS software in the first place?

“A: We are all college students, and you simply can’t beat the
cost of OSS. Not even my very restrictive ‘free’ Microsoft software
I get for being part of the computer science department can beat
the overall costs, as it only covers the operating system, and not
office, burning software, and so on…”
