“OEMs and carriers can add new software features or new
hardware and drivers to it as they see fit — although one
would hope that we don’t see different “distros”
of Android that are incompatible with each other. So for example,
if T-Mobile makes a mesh network system application, it better be
able to communicate with Android users who have Sprint devices or
AT&Ts.”
