[ Thanks to Kristian

Heise reports the results of their reader survey, showing that
there are only three operating systems with a noteable market share
among their readers, with Windows 2000/NT and Linux almost
head-to-head and Solaris following up.

All other Unix derivates which were present in previous reader
surveys had declining usage and can now be subsumed as “others”
(3700 answers, Linux up to 74% from 58% in two years, Windows at
82% now, and Solaris at 38% – multiple answers were possible to
accomodate users in heterogenous work environments. 70% of all
answers reported OSS usage in the workplace.

“If it is free, it is worthless” was down to 25% from over 40%
in the last two years.
