“I was surprised that so many of you thought the article was a
deliberate attempt at spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt)
to undermine the cause of Linux. Let me go on record: I am not
anti-open source. Rather, I am anti-hype….

“Here are the main issues, to my mind:

“Does the open source model of peer review produce better
software than the commercial development model, and if it does,
then can the organizational and technical approach represented by
open source be both scaled up and adapted to a mainstream,
commercial environment?

“I claim these questions remain unanswered.”
