ILUG-CAL: Rows and Columns of Simply Mindblowing Effort–A Review of Gnumeric (Beta 1.1.19)

“Gnumeric has announced plans to release v1.2.0 officially on
8th September, 2003. I had an occasion to try out the recently
released beta version and to cut a long story short–‘It
Rocks.’

“The yardstick of user acceptance and user desirability has long
been the popularity of the spreadsheet package. Capable of being
used in multiple domains and fulfilling varied end-uses,
spreadsheets are the acid test of any reasonably complete office
package. The Gnumeric team has exhibited heavy activity as evident
from the release(s) in the ChangeLog. And if the beta is anything
to go by, the stable official release should top the usage charts
and climb up the popularity ratings.

is an important milestone by itself. All the worksheet
functions (callable from worksheet expressions in the cells) in the
