“For some reason the devs have chosen to hide System ->
Preferences -> File Management (Nautilus file browser
preferences) in 8.10. I think they were trying to hide System ->
Preferences -> Encryptions and Keyrings, (which is right above)
and screwed up. At any rate, it should be set back, because unlike
normal applications’ preferences, Nautilus is a literal shell for
GNOME and makes up all of the Places section in the Menu Bar,
therefore making it extremely important and earning a merit to have
its preferences dialog displayed by default in Ubuntu.”
