Carmel, IN – IndyBox Systems,
Inc.
has begun shipping Linux systems based on the dual Pentium
II configuration. They are offering the DL Series, a dual
processor PII 350, from $1000.00
. IndyBox is also offering a
4U
rack version
starting at just $1240.00.

These systems provide additional performance compared to single
processor systems, enabling IndyBox Systems users to scream
through demanding applications more quickly. Our customers are
using the DL series system primarily as high-end desktops and
mid-range web servers.

IndyBox Systems president Charles Martin said, “. . . we remain
quite focused in offering the best price-performance
combination
, while continuously adapting to market-driven
changes and from customer feedback. We are quite pleased to offer
the ability to utilize a dual-cpu architecture at affordable
prices. The continued evolution of Intel technology makes Linux
implementation on this platform quite attractive. We are quickly
finding out, there are a lot of folks who want to run
processor-intensive applications.”

Martin stated “with our recent agreement with ICP vortex Corporation, the leading
manufacturer of RAID controllers, IndyBox Systems, Inc. will be offering
the complete line of U2W RAID
controllers
with our servers. With ICP
vortex’s clear commitment to the Linux community, and advanced
German-engineered products, it was an easy decision to drop our
usage of Mylex RAID controllers,
even though sales in this segment have been quite brisk. But, given
our strong commitment to the Linux community, and wanting to offer
the best RAID solution possible — we will be able to offer a
solution that is second to none. Our new server line will be
unveiled on May 19th.”
