Recently, IndyBox Systems
(based in Indianapolis, Indiana) announced they would be offering
AMD and Intel based Linux workstations and servers with one of the
many Linux distributions pre-installed, including Caldera Open
Linux, Debian, Mandrake, Red Hat, Slackware and S.u.S.E. They are
offering pre-configured rack mountable AMD based systems from
$650.00 and Intel based systems from $940.00, with a wide array of
hardware options all optimized under Linux.

IndyBox Systems Chief Executive Charles Martin said “with our
release of the $425.00 mid-tower Linux system two months ago, we
received literally thousands of requests for this model in a rack
mountable configuration. We engineered our rack mountable solution
the same way we did with our mid-tower version, not to simply work
with Linux, but from the ground up for Linux.”

Martin added, “our recently released XA, XL and DL based rack
mountable system allows any sized company to bring web hosting and
other services in-house saving thousands of dollars per year in
unnecessary costs. It is our goal to provide high-quality and
affordable Linux solutions.”
