“Expect to see a Linux version of Novell’s well-regarded network
directory technology, NDS, according to sources close to the
company. The Linux NDS will come as a port of a Unix version of NDS
Novell unveiled at BrainShare 99 last week. Novell officials won’t
comment, except to note the company’s recent investment in Linux
vendor Red Hat Software. “Obviously it’s a very important
relationship to us,” says Mike Sheridan, VP of strategy at Novell.
He did say it would be safe to assume Novell is working on a Linux
version of Digitalme, its E-commerce technology.”
