InfoWorld: Lotus to offer Linux version of Domino server

“Keeping to its promise made earlier this year, Lotus
Development officials said this week they will deliver a Linux
version of the company’s Domino server by year’s send via a
quarterly maintenance release.

“Expected as Release 5.0.3, the Linux version of Domino will
support connections to all of the same popular server-based
industry platforms as previous versions of Domino, including
Oracle’s Oracle8.x series and IBM’s other host-based platforms such
as DB2, company officials said.”

“Despite recently published reports, Lotus does not have any
plans to port Version 2.0 of its Same Time Instant messaging
software nor Version 2.0 of its Quick Place Web-based collaboration
software over to Linux. Company officials said that decision is
still being weighed.”
