“Linux got a little more help to walk in the front door of
corporate accounts as Madge Networks announced it is extending its
Token Ring adapter software to support the open-source operating
system.”

“Madge officials said they believe Linux continues to be one of
the fastest growing PC-based operating systems and is making
significant inroads into many different commercial applications,
particularly database servers.”

“‘It’s great to see support for Linux from a major player in the
Token Ring industry. Token Ring is prevalent in a lot of
universities and big businesses. The release of these drivers
increases the potential penetration for both Madge and Linux in
these areas,’ said Mike Phillips, organizer of the Linux Token Ring
Project.”
