InfoWorld: Microsoft asks court to throw out Caldera case

“Caldera, which bought DR-DOS from Novell in 1996, has accused
Microsoft of making false claims about the program’s compatibility
with Windows and deliberately sabotaging that compatibility.”

“Lawyers for Microsoft filed nine partial summary judgment
motions refuting Caldera’s claims, including charges that Microsoft
illegally tied Windows 95 to MS-DOS, that it intentionally designed
Windows 3.1 to be incompatible with Novell’s DR-DOS operating
system, and that Microsoft engineers inserted false error messages
in Windows 3.1 for DR-DOS customers.”
