“A San Francisco-based start-up known as Zenguin
(www.zenguin.com) has undertaken a project to provide a universal
installation routine for all Linux distributions. The Zenguin
Installer, being developed by some former SuSE employees, holds the
promise of making installation (and deinstallation) of Linux
applications a more simplified proposition. When completed, the
Zenguin Installer is expected to sport both a graphical interface
and an optional text-based approach. And, it will be free and open
source.
“The question is: Do you think a universal install/deinstall
routine will prove beneficial for Linux?”
