“One of the drivers behind podcasting is the ease with which
audio shows can be recorded with low-end equipment and cheap/free
software, but more serious multi-track recording has always been
left out in the cold when it comes to affordability. I have been
quietly dabbling in music and recording for several years now, and
I’ve probably laid out enough cash on SM57s, cables, mic stands,
software, various Roland devices, etc. to buy a car, but I’ve never
been quite serious enough to lay out the cash for a high-end system
like ProTools (though I did recently buy Logic Express and really
like it)…”
