20 years ago version 1.0 of the Linux Kernel was released, one of several major events in the history of Linux you can learn more about by clicking through this interactive timeline. The events are accompanied by descriptive texts, photos, and videos.

This timeline is by no means comprehensive, but a selection of important or unusual events that had some kind of impact on the Linux project. Of course this is subjective to some extent. If you feel I missed an important event, please tell about it in the comments. It may added it in a future version of the timeline.
