Internet Week: [HP’s] NetMetrix Provides Bird’s-Eye Views… [to] Isolate Network Problems

“Technology managers need to have greater visibility into their
enterprise networks to pinpoint problems before they affect
performance.

To that end, Hewlett-Packard last week unveiled a new version of
its NetMetrix performance management software that makes it easier
for IT operators to identify and isolate network problems.

The HP OpenView NetMetrix Performance Center includes a new open
architecture that forges tighter links between NetMetrix and
third-party management applications, as well as a Java interface
that simplifies the management of remote sites.”

“NetMetrix supports both RMON and RMON2, and runs on HP-UX
and Sun Solaris. It will support Linux in future
releases.”
