“The latest buzz word entering the world of Linux is Trillian.
It’s an initiative to port the free-source Linux O/S over to
Intel’s Merced processor and it’s already going down a storm with
the industry heavyweights. So far the initiative has got Intel,
obviously, SGI, VA Linux Systems and Hewlett-Packard lined up to
help with the project, but last week, that Linux upstart IBM joined
the throng and now everyone is interested in it.

“The plan is for the initiative to deliver Linux for IA-64
in the first quarter of next year when it will be made available to
the open source community.”
