“The just concluded Open Source and Linux conference put on by
the Jamaica Linux Users’ Group at the PCJ’s auditorium was by all
indications a success. The event started a few minutes after 9:00am
with JaLUG’s President, Donavon Campbell, offering the welcome to
the approximately 90 persons present. This number grew to over 110
by the time the day’s proceedings were half way through.“Ms. Suzann Dodd gave the keynote address on behalf of Min.
Paulwell who was unable to attend. IBM’s Fred Pycko then made two
presentations on ‘key open source decisions for CEOs, CFOs,
CTOs/CIOs’ and ‘non-disruptive open source migration’ which was
followed by a short break during which participants and presenters
had a chance to mingle…”
