“What is your role within KDE?”
“Localizes application to Traditional Chinese Ed.”
“How and when did you get involved in KDE?”
“On 2000-2-11, I was a student at Morehead State University. It
is a tiny town and I have nothing to do. Therefore, I joined
Chinese Linux Documentation Project (http://www.linux.org.tw/CLDP/)
and talk with couple of my friends like Seventeen Chen
(seventeen@cle.linux.org.tw), Platin (platin@ch.ntu.edu.tw). They
tell me that I can also try to translate some PO files. Since there
is no running project for translating PO files into Traditional
Chinese, I start this project (http://i18n.linux.org.tw). Soon
after this, I start to translate PO files in KDE and Gnome….”
“What are the problems you encounter while translating?”
“There is only few active translator in our team and all of us
can only use our own free time to do this. Also, there are a lot of
PO files someone translated long time ago, and they no longer
update it. Therefore, the translation progress is quite slow.”
