Chinese PC manufacturer Legend Computer said it will create
Linux-based Net devices for the Asian market.
The company said the devices, the first of which will be a
set-top box, will use Legend’s Happy Linux embedded operating
system and Cyrus InterSoft’s Speiros.
Scott Bayless, chief executive officer of the U.S.-based Cyrus
InterSoft, described Speiros as, “a distributed Internet system
designed to enable a real-time distribution channel for delivering
applications and services.”
The companies released no information about other devices
resulting from the alliance or when they would be available.
