The Linux Drivers Petition
hosted by Libranet has passed
the 30,000 signatures mark. It looks like the open source community
is getting behind this one.
From the Web site:
“Linux is hampered by a lack of drivers for some pc devices,
notably printers.”
“In an effort to help correct this, we are collecting signatures
to a petition which will be submitted to the major producers of pc
devices.”
“It is our hope that we will collect 2,000,000 signatures within
a short time and that this will cause these companies to take
notice of the need to co-operate with Linux developers in producing
Linux drivers for their products.”
