Linux Journal: Dell Servers Wear Red Hats

“When the number-two server provider sits down with the
number-one provider of the Linux operating system, a deal of
enterprise-shaking significance is the likely outcome.”

“In extending the strategic alliance with Dell, the newly
appointed president and CEO of Red Hat, Matthew Szulik, observes
diplomatically that the Dell “seal-of-approval” is vital in
“advancing Linux-based OSes in the enterprise space”. But readers
should make no mistake as to which base Mr. Szulik hopes Linux will
be headquartered at, nor should they confuse “advancing Linux” with
any rising tide destined to raise all boats….”

So, all of this begs the question: has Linux moved closer
to a world where there is little difference between a Linux
solution and a Red Hat Linux solution in the minds of most computer
users outside the Linux community?
